Ten Day Tour - Cairo, Alexandria and Siwa Oasis Overland

Day 1

CAIRO

Upon arrival in Cairo, you are met at the airport by our representative who will assist you through immigration and customs (including help with your visa if required) and driven to your hotel by private transfer. You will then have the rest of the evening to relax and settle into your hotel. May be even order a bit of room service?

Day 2

CAIRO: Tour: Pyramids and Grand Egyptian Museum

After breakfast, your private guide and driver will meet you at your hotel for a full-day tour of the pyramids at Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum. The morning will be spent touring these iconic monuments and the Sphinx. Afterwards, you will be driven to the Grand Egyptian Museum, where, with your guide, you will spend the afternoon looking at the wonders this recently opened museum has to offer - including the world famous treasures of King Tutankhamun.

Day 3

CAIRO: Tour: The Citadel and the Khan al Khalili Bazaar

After breakfast, you will be met by your private guide and driver and taken on a half day tour to visit the Citadel, founded in 1176 by the Muslim commander Salah ad-Din, and the bustling Khan al-Khalili Bazaar with its maze of covered narrow alleyways selling anything from gold to spices and perfume. Afternoon at leisure. Time for you to simply walk the streets of central Cairo taking in the amazing atmosphere or having a coffee at one of the many street side cafes. Alternatively you might want to visit one of Cairo's other exceptional museums such as the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization which houses a truly wonderful collection of Royal Mummys.

Day 4

CAIRO/ALEXANDRIA: Tour: Saqqara

After breakfast, and having checked out from the hotel,  you will be met by your guide and driver and taken on a half day tour to Saqqara. Here you will visit Djoser's famous step pyramid and have the opportunity among other things to see the underground burial chamber for bulls known as the Serapeum. After visiting Saqqara, you will drive to Alexandria where you will be taken to your hotel of choice.

Rest of the afternoon at leisure.

Day 5

ALEXANDRIA: Tour: Alexandria

After an early breakfast, you will be met by your private guide and driver and taken on a full day tour of Alexandria. Among other things you will visit the National Museum, the Catacombs of Kom Ash-Shuqqafa, Pompey's Pillar and  the Library and Fort Quaitbey. You will then be returned to your hotel.

Day 6

ALEXANDRIA/SIWA OASIS: Transit

After an early breakfast you will be met by our representative to be taken to Siwa Oasis. This is a full days drive from Alexandria - approximately nine hours. You will have lunch en route as well as opportunities to take rest breaks. Upon arrival in Siwa Oasis you will be taken to your chosen hotel.

Day 7

SIWA OASIS: Tour: Temple of Amun, Shali Fortress and the Mountain of the Dead

Morning breakfast before you are met by your private guide and driver for your days tour around Siwa. During this full days tour you will visit the Temple of Amun (or the Oracle), the remains of the impressive Shali Fortress and the Mountain of the Dead. Finally have a relaxing dip in what is locally described as Cleopatras's hot spring. Lunch provided.

Day 8

SIWA OASIS: Tour: Salt Lakes, Hot Springs and Desert Safari

Today spend time relaxing in the areas wonderful salt lakes, followed by time rinsing off in the natural hot springs nearby.  In the afternoon enjoy a desert safari culminating in a uniquely desert dining experience.

Day 9

SIWA OASIS/CAIRO: Transit

After an early breakfast you are collected from your hotel by our representative and driver and driven back to Cairo. This is a full days journey and takes approximately nine hours. Lunch and rest breaks will be provided en route. You will be taken to your chosen hotel in Cairo.

Day 10

CAIRO

After a leisurely breakfast you are collected from your hotel by our representative and taken to Cairo International airport for you to catch your international flight back home. Our representative will escort you through the airport as far as passport control.
